Music at Keystone
Being a part of a musical ensemble creates an incredible sense of belonging where you will become part of a team. It takes every singer and every musician to create that big sound that emerges from the group during a performance.
Performance Music at Keystone College includes exciting opportunities for instrumentalists and vocalists of all ability levels. The various instrumental and vocal ensembles at Keystone are completely free, with no audition, fees, or tuition necessary. Keystone’s musicians are primarily college students, but we are proud to welcome adult community musicians and select high school upperclassmen to join our ensembles.

Upcoming Music Events
The Keystone College Department of Performance Music is pleased to invite guests to their Holiday Concert Event: “The Sunlight in Winter” in The Theatre at Brooks on their campus on Sunday, December 8 at 7 p.m. This FREE, hour-long concert will feature familiar vocal and instrumental music ranging from traditional holiday favorites to jazz arrangements of music of the season. In addition to the music, audience members can enjoy complimentary holiday treats, visits from seasonal characters, presents for young attendees, and more. There is no registration necessary.
Keystone Director of Bands & Performance Music states, “What I really love about this concert, musically, is that it’s not just something we say when mentioning that there will be something for everyone. There truly will be! If you love sacred works, you’ll enjoy ‘I Saw Three Ships,’ and Hanukkah selections. If you’re into traditional Christmas carols, we’ll be performing everything from ‘Santa Claus Is Coming to Town’ to ‘Deck The Halls.’ If more modern, contemporary holiday tunes are for you, the KC Jazz Ensemble will be featuring charts such as ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ and there’s even a combined Broadway-themed work showcasing both the KC Symphonic Band and Chorale together! But, what I really love about this concert actually isn’t the music at all. It’s the chance to give to local charities, enjoy some holiday cookies together, and watch as the kiddos get a present from you-know-who.”
This concert is primarily sponsored by a generous Lackawanna County Arts Grant, and also supported by The Endless Mountains Visitor’s Bureau.
As stated, the department is thrilled to once again offer their audience members the chance to give back to three charities: The Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, Toys for Tots, and The Catherine McCauley Center.
